The Epicenter of American Development
Miami is where American
development happens now.
Some call it the Silicon Valley of real estate.
Week after week, renowned architects and developers launch projects here that the rest of the country studies.
The University of Miami is Florida’s leading private research university and a major force in South Florida’s educational, economic, and cultural life. Through MRED+U, it sits at the center of this moment, developing tomorrow’s leaders where the work is really happening.
MRED+U brings together the strengths of the University’s Schools of Architecture, Business, and Law. Its mission is to prepare professionals who can harness the power of the market to deliver development that offers a high quality of life: walkable, sustainable neighborhoods where diverse communities live, work, and thrive.
Skyline Scholars will enable MRED+U to recruit the very best students from across the country and take its place among the nation’s top real estate development programs.

“We helped shape
South Florida’s skyline.
Now let’s help shape
those who will carry
it forward.”

Ricardo made
the first commitment.
As Chair of the MRED+U Board, Ricardo Caporal champions a forward-thinking, project-driven approach to helping our students. As the founder of Skyline Scholars, he has pioneered a “pay-it-forward” model in Miami philanthropy. The idea is simple: real estate leaders set aside part of each new project’s budget for Skyline Scholars. Those commitments build a permanent endowment that funds MRED+U scholarships every year, so the projects shaping Miami today also train the people who will shape it next.
Every gift builds a permanent endowment for MRED+U scholarships.
The Goldman Family
Landmark Gift
Celebrating the Legacy of Tony Goldman
In a major milestone for the University of Miami’s Ever Brighter campaign, a historic $1.5 million gift from Jessica Goldman Srebnick and the Goldman family has officially established and named the Tony Goldman Endowed Director of Real Estate Development and Urbanism. This permanent endowment honors Tony Goldman’s legendary, transformative impact on neighborhood revitalization across Wynwood and South Florida.
Dr. Charles “Chuck” Bohl proudly steps in as the Inaugural Tony Goldman Director, carrying forward this rich lineage of urban excellence and continuing his work leading the MRED+U program, which he has successfully guided since 2008.

Launching
the Future
The Skyline Scholars Fund
Skyline Scholars is the first major effort in the next era of the University of Miami MRED+U program, and a powerful example of how the real estate community can invest directly in its future leaders.
By backing a Skyline Scholar, donors do not simply fund a degree. They start a career, open up a network of mentors, and bring top-tier talent into the South Florida market.
Every commitment builds toward a multimillion-dollar endowment at the University of Miami. The principal is never spent. Its earnings fund MRED+U scholarships every year, so a commitment made on one deal keeps opening doors long after it closes.
Developers, attorneys, lenders, bankers, investors, architects, brokers, and builders: everyone with a hand in the skyline has a place in it.
Your next project includes
a line item for Skyline Scholars.
A small share of the project budget, set aside for the next generation of MRED+U students.
How it works
A deal closes.
A building rises.
A student is supported.
- 1A commitment is made, tied to a project or deal.
- 2The deal closes and the gift is completed.
- 3A student is supported, year after year.
What you commit
$25,000 or more to Skyline Scholars, tied to a specific project or deal you are part of. One deal, one commitment. Reach $100,000, in a single deal or over several, and you have created a Named Scholarship in your name.
What you choose
The deal, the timing, and how the gift is made: through the project budget, a fee, or a direct gift.
The structure is yours.
The University handles the rest.

“Someone invested in me without even knowing what I could become. And that’s very powerful.”

The freedom
to focus.
For Ron, a scholarship created something more valuable than financial relief: freedom to focus. It allowed him to become a full-time student, build relationships and immerse himself in the experiences that prepare a student for a career. But the gift also created responsibility: the knowledge that someone believed in his potential before knowing what he might become.

“This program helped me combine education with real‑life application to help me land the internship.”

A bridge
to the people shaping it.
Samara came to real estate ready to change the course of her career. Before her master’s program had even begun, a connection through UM opened the door to Starwood Property Trust, and she earned the internship. For her, education is no longer confined to a classroom. It is a bridge to the people, projects and opportunities shaping South Florida.
